When should you go to Muong Hoa Valley?

You may ask yourself: "When is the best time period to visit Sapa, especially this valley?". The valley's hue varies throughout the year. It is rich green from April through the end of May. The color gradually transforms to a brilliant yellow as the harvest season approaches in September.

Most months are ideal for a visit, with the exception of the rainy season from July to August.

Area of ancient stones

When visiting Muong Hoa, you should not miss touring the old stone region. The region is designated as a national historic site because it contains remains of ancient Vietnamese people.

Around 200 stones of all sizes are scattered around the valley, each etched with cryptic themes. Nobody knows where they came from or what they symbolize.

Although I didn't understand the significance of the stones when I saw them, it was nonetheless interesting to view some ancient treasures.

The path to the old stone region is rather difficult to navigate on a motorcycle, so be cautious!

2. Spend the night at Topas Ecolodge.

Topas Ecolodge, located on a stunning mountaintop, is one of the nicest locations to stay in Sapa.

This hidden sanctuary is an ideal place to unwind from your hectic life while enjoying the lovely natural surroundings and outstanding services.

3. Visit the villages of Lao Chai Ta Van.

Ethnic groups live in Lao Chai and Ta Van villages, which are similar to Cat Cat village. The region sits near the valley's base, with the spectacular Hoang Lien Son peaks on each side.

The terraced fields in Lao Chai - Ta Van have been present for hundreds of years and are meticulously maintained by local farmers.

The paddy fields, which are hundreds of hectares vast and have curving lines, are a sight to behold.

4. Ride via the O Quy Ho Pass

The O Quy Ho Pass is one of the top 10 amazing places to visit in Sapa. Riding across this pass will immerse you in the spectacular alpine surroundings. You'll be able to touch the clouds after you reach the highest point. Heaven's Gate is what the locals name it.

Love Waterfalls is one of Sapa's attractions, located on the way to the summit of O Quy Ho Pass. Love waterfalls, with a height of approximately 100 meters, is an example of poetic scenery.

The waterfall lies deep within the Hoang Lien National Park. You must walk 1.6 kilometers to get there. Other little waterfalls may be seen on the approach to O Quy Ho Peak. This one was not far from the Love waterfalls.

Sapa town is about a ten-minute drive away from Cat Cat village. This hamlet has a sizable HH'Mongethnic community. A steep stretch of cobblestone steps houses roughly 80 homes.

I went for a walk and saw some of the locals' traditional practices. More information on things to do in Cat Cat Village may be found here.

The route leading to Cat Cat hamlet is beautiful, with terraced fields and ethnic cottages visible as you go over the curving road parts.

7. Experiment with ethnic clothing.

Trying on the local clothing is an experience not to be missed when visiting Sapa. As the home of several ethnic communities, Sapa's apparel is highly vibrant and diversified.

Each garment has a different significance and features uniquely beautiful designs. This is a long-standing aspect of Sapa culture that continues to thrive today.

Near Cat Cat hamlet, there are several clothing rental kiosks on both sides of the road. The shops would happily assist you in selecting the appropriate attire for sightseeing.

Each rental costs between 50,000 and 100,000 VND.

8. Eat regional foods.

On the chilly nights of Sapa, sampling some of the tasty local cafes' grilled food is a great idea. The grilled chicken with bamboo-cooked rice was delicious.

The sturgeon and salmon raised here are transported across Vietnam. So the sturgeon and salmon hotpot is a cuisine that is particularly remarkable in Sapa.

The hotpot here is amazing, made with fresh ingredients including mushrooms, veggies, tofu, sweet potatoes, and local fish. The broth is prepared with fresh herbs, giving it a pleasant and aromatic flavor.

You may climb this peak with a professional tour operator or with the help of locals. The most common trip will take three days.
