Taxi From Phnompenh To Siem Reap

Some information before transferring from Phnompenh to Siem Reap

1. About Phnompenh and Siem Reap

Phnom Penh, the main city of Cambodia, is where most tourists start their trip. The Choeung Ek Genocidal Center (also known as The Killing Fields) and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (which is in the old S21 Prison) are probably the most well-known parts of Phnom Penh's long and troubled past. It is now one of the towns in Southeast Asia that is changing the most quickly, with trendy microbars and health food cafes opening up just blocks away from old temples and traditional markets.

After a few days of visiting Phnom Penh, you'll probably be going north to Siem Reap and the famous Angkor Wat temples. It is easier to get around and quieter in Siem Reap than in Phnom Penh. But since over 2.6 million tourists visit each year, Siem Reap has plenty to offer.

The fastest way to get there is by plane, but if you want to save money and be able to stop along the way, we suggest taking a private car or taxi from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. There are still a lot of choices, so let's see which one you like best.

Also, your hotel in Phnom Penh will be picked up and taken straight to your hotel in Siem Reap. This door-to-door service saves you a lot of time and trouble going to and from the bus station or airport.

Taxi from Phnompenh to Siem Reap

Why would you pick us to rent a car in Vietnam? Your private journey starts with a pick-up from your Phnom Penh hotel in the morning and help loading your bags into either a sedan or a minivan, depending on how many people are in your group.

Based on your trip plans, pick a time to leave, then relax on board and enjoy a cool ride through the provinces of Kampong Thom and Kampong Cham. You can take breaks during the six-hour trip to stretch your legs, go to the bathroom, or take pictures. When you arrive at your hotel in Siem Reap, your driver will help you clear your bags and make sure you're in the right place before dropping you off.

2. Phnompenh to Siem Reap by plane

It has already been said that flying is the fastest way to get from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. It takes less than an hour to fly between the two towns, plus the time it takes to check in at the airport. The fastest way to get from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap if you don't have much time in Cambodia is to fly.

Flying is the fastest way to get somewhere, but it costs the most. Most airline tickets cost between $50 and $150 for a one-way trip. Cambodia Airways and Cambodia Angkor Air both fly directly from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh every day. We think Cambodia Angkor Air is the better choice because it is more comfortable and on time.

3. Phnompenh to Siem Reap by bus

It's best to take a tourist bus between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap if you want to save money. If there is traffic, the trip will take about 6 hours and cost less than $20 per person. In Cambodia, this road is served by a huge number of bus companies.

Giant Ibis and other tourist bus companies have seats that can be folded down, power outlets, and air conditioning that works. They also say that there is free Wi-Fi, but in Southeast Asia, buses almost never have Wi-Fi that works.

Phnompenh to Siem Reap by bus

We strongly suggested that you pay a few dollars more and book with a bus company that has a good reputation for safety and happy customers. Giant Ibis, Mekong Express, Virak Buntham Express, and Mey Hong Transport are the bus companies that most people use.

However, you should also know that traveling by bus is more cost-effective, but in exchange, you might lose privacy and flexibility. If you choose to go by private car or taxi from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, you'll have more control over your time, and you can stop whenever you want along the way. Moreover, the driver often knows a lot and can guide you about the place you're heading to, which you might not get while traveling by bus.

4. Phnompenh to Siem Reap by ferry/boat

In the wet season, you can ride a ferry or speed boat from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap if you're looking for the most exciting way to go. A number of Cambodian businesses provide this option when the water level is high enough.

The eight-hour or more journey aboard a sluggish boat isn't exactly a pleasant mode of transportation. Nonetheless, taking a ferry over Tonle Sap Lake is undoubtedly an unforgettable way to see Cambodia.

Be sure to verify that you will be provided with a life jacket before boarding a budget ferry. Go with a different firm or choose for a different mode of transportation if you are worried about the safety standards provided.

Phnompenh to Siem Reap by ferry/boat

We advise taking Angkor Express due to safety concerns. They make sure everyone wears life vests aboard the boat. The trip leaves from Sisowath Quay in Phnom Penh first thing in the morning and costs around $55.00 per person.

If you'd like to take it easy and relax, there are a few of luxury boats that go this route as well. A three-day, two-night cruise on a beautiful boutique boat, with meals and excursions included, is offered by companies like Mekong Dawn. Luxury boats like these can cost several hundred dollars, but they can be worth it if you want to go in style.

Floating villages on Tonle Sap Lake

3. The Temples of Angkor

This must be among the most popular tourist spots in Siem Reap. Temples such as Angkor Wat and the Bayon Temple at Angkor Thom, two of the most well-known Khmer Empire capitals, are among the outstanding artefacts housed at the UNESCO World Heritage site.

4. Angkor Night Market

Angkor Night Market

The Night Market of Siem Reap is one of the best places for you to pick up one-of-a-kind souvenirs and enjoy an environment that is very Cambodian. It is packed with over 240 vendors selling a variety of hand-made handicrafts and silks.

5. Phare, the Cambodian Circus

The Cambodian Circus, also known as Phare, is not your typical circus. It places a strong emphasis on the performance of contemporary Khmer acrobatics and incorporates a subtle social message into each of its productions.
